Puits de Chaux is a Hautes-Cotes de Beaune parcel, the cooler, higher hills above the Cote de Beaune that give Pinot Noir freshness and lift. Clair Obscur is the small biodynamic estate of Pierre and Jennifer Clair; Pierre worked at two of Burgundy’s iconic biodynamic addresses, Domaine de Montille and d’Angerville, before farming his own 3.5 hectares. The wines are made naturally, with minimal additions. This is bright, transparent red Burgundy that won’t break the bank. The 2022 is open and drinkable now.
