One of the best producers in Saumur-Champigny, alongside illustrious names like Clos Rougeard and Guiberteau, and one of our favorite producers of Cabernet Franc anywhere. Winemaker Mathieu Vallee has been on an incredible run since taking over Chteau Yvonne in 2007, mirroring the high-quality Loire vintages from 2014 onward, and the estate has been certified biodynamic since 2012. This village-level Saumur-Champigny is pure Cabernet Franc from limestone and tuffeau soils, fermented with native yeasts and raised in large foudres. Yvonne deserves wider recognition as not only an elite name in the Loire, but in all of French wine.
