One of the most discussed wines of the 2020 vintage, from Saint-milion’s most prominent estate. Chteau Pavie remains a Premier Grand Cru Class A under the current classification (after Cheval Blanc, Ausone, and Anglus departed). Owned by Grard Perse since 1998, the estate sits on a south-facing limestone plateau that gives Pavie its signature combination of power and minerality. The 2020 is 50% Merlot, 34% Cabernet Franc, balance Cabernet Sauvignon, raised in 75% new French oak. Still very young, this is a wine for the long hauldecant aggressively or, better, cellar for a decade.
