Lynch-Bages 2021 is one of the bigger, broader-shouldered wines of a classical, cooler vintagea youthful Pauillac built for the cellar. Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant (67%) with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, raised in 75% new oak, this is still primary and tightly wound but already shows the signature Lynch-Bages cassis, plum, and creamy oak framework. The Cazes family produced a wine with grippy tannins, good density, and a tensile finish that fans out beautifully on the palate. Decant aggressively if drinking young, orbetterlay it down. Will start to drink well from 2027 and reward patience through the 2040s.
