Same property as the blanc but a different beast the Haut-Vigneau red comes from clay-gravel soils on the same Pessac-Leognan plateau, run by Eric Perrin of Carbonnieux. 2019 was an excellent Left Bank vintage that delivered ripeness without losing freshness, and this wine shows the warm-vintage flesh held in check by Pessac’s characteristic smoky minerality. Predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot. A serious Pessac red at an everyday-Bordeaux price.
