From the great 2009 vintage and now in its prime: a Pauillac Fifth Growth from the cooler coastal section of the appellation. Grand-Puy Ducasse (not to be confused with Grand-Puy-Lacoste) works parcels scattered across three parishes (Pauillac, Saint-Lambert and Saint-Sauveur), including northern Pauillac sites adjacent to Mouton, Lafite and Pontet-Canet a wide canvas that gives the wines breadth alongside classic Pauillac power. Sixteen years of bottle age have polished the tannins and brought out the cedar, tobacco, and graphite that make mature Pauillac so rewarding.
