Customers love Chateau de Cugat from Bordeaux, and for good reason. They have been producing wines since the 16th century, and offer fabulous wine at an accessible price. The wine is 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, a classic “Claret” style. It is from the small town of Blasimon, not for from Pommerol, a region famous for some of the most prestigious Merlots, often with prices to match. Being “nearby”, we get delicious wine for under $20. Expect fresh and vibrant plum and blackcurrant notes, supported by a bit of earth and spice. This is a fabulous”daily drinker” which will pair well with a wide variety of meals, making weekly dinners simple and easy.
The importer calls it their “best selling Bordeaux by far”, and I’ve seen others write it up as “Unbelievable for under$20”. I completely agree. A nearly 8-year old Bordeaux from a winery that’s been around since the 1500s for under $20 is almost unbelievable.
