The quiet neighbor with the famous name. Cos Labory is a Fifth Growth in Saint-Estphe, sharing a property line with Cos d’Estournel. The Audoy family ran this estate for generations on a much smaller, more traditional scale before selling to Cos d’Estournel’s Michel Reybier in 2023; this 2019 was bottled under Audoy stewardship. 2019 was a superb Mdoc vintage, ripe and balanced, and Cos Labory’s classical style Cabernet-led, structured, savory is showing beautifully. A way into the great Saint-Estphe terroir at a much friendlier scale than its neighbors.
