Carillon is the second wine of Chteau Anglus, one of Saint-milion’s most famous estates – and a great way to access the property’s style at a fraction of the grand vin’s investment. The 2019 was the first vintage vinified in a new cellar built specifically for Carillon, and the wine got the same attention to detail as the grand vin: 60% new French oak for 16-18 months. The blend is roughly 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, a Merlot-forward profile that gives plush black fruit, tobacco leaf, damp earth, and a long, elegant finish. Drinking well now and built to hold for another decade.
