Chartreuse Jaune was created in 1840, inspired by the monks’ legendary Elixir Vgtal recipe, and officially registered under the Chartreuse name in 1852. Made from 130 plants, flowers, bark, roots, and spices, the Yellow is notably sweeter and more approachable than its Green counterpart the result of a meticulous production process carried out by the monks at the Grande Chartreuse monastery, involving grinding, distillation, and multiple stages of maceration before aging in truncated cone-shaped oak vats. Intense yellow in color with a fresh, spicy nose of turmeric, citrus, and anise, and a soft, floral finish that lingers beautifully. Bottled at 86 proof.
