One of our two rotating seasonal gins, our Harvest Seasonal Gin highlights the notes of fall and winter with a unique flavor profile representative of the seasons. After three years of seasonal releases, our team decided to transition our favorite recipes to limited-time offerings that would return year after year.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Soft pine, bay leaf, and fresh cracked pepper up front, highlighted with a light array of berry compote, sweet anise, savory herbal notes, and a touch of tanginess
• Palate: Fresh cedar, licorice, woodsy and earthy, with notes of tart dark berries, cinnamon, fennel, clove, and soft pepper
• Finish: Sweet and spicy finish gives way to woody and mineral notes with lingering heat and light numbing

Castle & Key Harvest Gin is the fall entry in the Frankfort distillery’s seasonal gin program a rotating recipe built each year around what the season actually gives. The revived Old Taylor site grows part of its own botanical garden, and this edition leans autumnal: juniper up front as the law requires, then warm spice, fresh citrus peel, and an earthy, orchard-adjacent roundness that reads more harvest table than pine forest. Released once per season and numbered by hand, each year’s bottling is its own small argument about what Kentucky gin can be. Pour it in a Negroni to meet the spice halfway, or sip it over ice while the season it was named for is still outside.
