From Verduno, the northernmost commune of Barolo, Castello di Verduno is a historic estate making classic, organically-farmed Nebbiolo from both Barolo and Barbaresco. This is their village Barbaresco in magnum (1.5L), the format that ages slowly and pours like a celebration. Fermentation runs long in stainless using a submerged-cap technique with native yeasts, then the wine rests roughly two years in large Slavonian oak casks. The 2021 is a structured, classically built vintage that wants time. A magnum of traditional Barbaresco is a near-perfect thing to lay down for a future feast.
