Traditional Barolo from two of Castiglione Falletto’s finest crus: Villero and Valletti (in the Mariondino vineyard). Cascina Fontana is a small, family-run estate on the Perno hill in Monforte d’Alba, where Mario Fontana carries on a long tradition of cultivating Dolcetto, Barbera, and Nebbiolo. Each parcel is vinified separately, then the wines are blended and aged approximately two years in Slavonian oak barrels (2527 hectoliters). Hand-harvested in late October. A straightforward, honest Barolo from a producer who lets the vineyards speak.
