Matured in Bourbon casks.

This peated expression from the distillery has an abundance of smoke throughout with notes of crispy smoked bacon, cullen skink soup and coastal sea salt.

An imperious and impressive distillery located on the north-east of Islay – the location was decided by William Robertson (of Robertson & Baxter) along with Greenlees Bros back in 1881. This remote location meant that they had to build houses as well, constructing a road and a pier too, so that workers could live nearby and casks & barley could come in with whisky going out.

Production has increased in recent times, leading to investment in the distillery site – including a visitor centre.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Crispy smoked bacon, sea salt, savoury peat.

Flavour: More big smoke! Cullen skink soup, fresh mint leaves.

Finish: Continued coastal Creamy sweetness, smoked tofu.
