Precision and pleasure: that’s the Bereche promise, and Le Cran is their flagship single-vintage cuvee. Raphael Bereche is one of Champagne’s hardest-working, most curious growers, obsessing over every step from farming to dosage, and his wines are quietly legendary among the trade. Le Cran is a 50/50 blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from two old-vine plots in the family’s home village of Ludes, a Premier Cru on the Montagne de Reims. Bereche blocks malolactic fermentation, which keeps the wine taut and mineral, and this extra brut is bone-dry and built for the cellar.
