Franciacorta is Italy’s answer to Champagne, made by the same painstaking bottle-fermented method, and Bellavista is one of its most prestigious houses. Founded by Vittorio Moretti in 1977, the estate assembles its ‘Alma’ Brut from dozens of separately fermented parcels, ages it long on the lees, and even riddles the bottles by hand. This half-bottle format is the smart move: a serious, Champagne-method sparkler sized for two glasses, a gift, or a Tuesday that deserves better. Chardonnay-led, with Pinot Nero and a touch of Pinot Bianco, it’s crisp, fine-beaded, and dangerously easy to finish.
