For the first time, Kelsey McKechnie, The Balvenie’s malt master, has created a Taiwan-exclusive limited-edition wine specifically designed for a single market, presenting a multi-layered sherry flavour.
Kelsey brought the memory of the multi-layered and sweet flavour she experienced in Taiwan back to Scotland, and decided to choose Oloroso sherry cask whiskey aged for 13 years in the Balvenie cellar, paired with the rare Moscatel sherry cask, to create this Complementing the delicate flavours of Taiwanese cuisine, the 13-year-old Moscatel Sherry Cask Single Malt Whiskey is a perfect match and is only available in Taiwan.
Tasting Notes:
The steady dry fruit, wood and nutty tones of the Oloroso sherry barrels are layered with the light floral and fruity sweetness of the Moscatel sherry barrels through the Balvenie barreling process, cleverly combining the two different styles of snow.
The flavors of Li Tong are intertwined and blended, and the classic honey flavor of Balvenie runs through it. The layers are rich and diverse, and the finish is long and delicate.
