Ashes & Diamonds is a love letter to Napa as it was in the 1960s and ’70s, when wines were leaner, brighter, and made for the dinner table rather than the trophy case. Founder Kashy Khaledi assembled a dream team of light-handed winemakers, including Steve Matthiasson and Diana Snowden Seysses, to chase that restrained, food-friendly vision. This Cabernet Franc pulls from cooler southern Napa sites in Carneros, Oak Knoll, and Yountville, fermented in stainless and aged in mostly neutral French oak. The result leans red-fruited and floral, with herbal lift and polished, fine-grained tannins. It’s Cab Franc with a Napa address but a distinctly classic soul.
