Their flagship cool-climate California Syrah, drawing on a rotating cast of edge-of-the-continent vineyards in Sonoma. A long, cool growing season – the hallmark of the 2023 vintage – delivers complete ripeness at low sugar, and each block is fermented separately whole-cluster, then aged in foudre (30%) and neutral French oak. The result is dark-fruited, peppery and savory in a Northern Rhone register, never heavy. Arguably one of the great syrahs of the West Coast and consistently one of California’s best values at the level.
