Their Jura-inspired, sun-kissed darling – Trousseau is a finicky, perfumed grape native to the Jura that has found a happy second home in select cool-climate California sites. The 2024 is 80% Luchsinger Vineyard (planted at 1,400 feet on volcanic alluvium over ancient riverbed cobbles, west of Clear Lake) and 20% Las Cimas (decomposed sandstone). Fermented 100% whole-cluster and aged eleven months in neutral French oak, puncheons and foudre. Bright ruby, vivid, savory, gently grippy – somewhere between Poulsard and good cru Beaujolais. Arnot-Roberts essentially put this grape on the California map and they remain the benchmark.
