Anillos Mezcal Ensamble blends two wild agaves Tepeztate and Tobal cooked and distilled by Master Mezcalero Juan Hernndez Mndez in Santiago Matatln, Oaxaca. Ensamble means blend, and this one lets both agaves keep their character rather than smoothing them into one note: Tepeztate brings a green, mineral edge and long maturation, Tobal adds floral lift and spice. Bottled at 44% ABV, it drinks with more intensity than a standard espadn mezcal, smoky but not one-dimensional. This is a small-production, artisanal spirit treat it like one.
