Join us for a special seminar withFlavien Nowack (@flaviennowack), vigneron and owner of Domaine Nowack (champagne-nowack.com, @champagnenowack). This is a rare opportunity to taste directly with one of Champagne’s most compelling young grower-producers in our Cellar Room.
The Nowack family has been cultivating vines in Vandires, in the Valle de la Marne, since 1795but it was Flavien’s arrival in 2011 that transformed this historic domaine into one of the region’s most talked-about estates. After studying with the younger generation of grower-producers like Emmanuel Brochet, Flavien began steering his family’s vineyards toward organic and biodynamic farming, minimal intervention winemaking, and single-parcel, single-vintage bottlings that showcase the distinctive character of their terroir.
What makes Domaine Nowack particularly noteworthy is its commitment to Pinot Meunier, the often-overlooked grape that comprises 75% of their plantings. In Flavien’s hands, Meunier reveals itself as a noble variety capable of serious depth, complexity, and aging potential. His champagnes demonstrate what terroir-driven winemaking can achievewines that speak honestly of their place while challenging preconceptions about what grower champagne can be.
This seminar offers a chance to taste directly with Flavien and hear the story of how he’s honoring his family’s legacy while charting a new course for the estate. You’ll gain insights into organic viticulture in Champagne, the art of working with Pinot Meunier, and the philosophy behind single-parcel champagne production. Flavien’s passion for his craft and deep connection to his land make him a compelling guide to understanding what makes grower champagne so distinctive.
