Twenty plus years in the wine business and nothing gets me more pumped up thanpassing along a top wine deal to our customers and friends. This is another one ofthose wines you do not pass on. I commonly refer to these deals as the Dont ask,dont tell wine deals. These are some wild times in the wine and spirits business, butwe have seen it before and are navigating it well.

Years ago, one of my favorite wines and vineyard sights was the Dancing Hares Winery. The proprietors assembled an all-star viticulture and winemaking team and produced one of the most elegant wines of its days. About 10 years ago the Dancing Hares property was sold and purchased by Tuck Beckstoffer. Amulet Estate is a winery in Napa Valley, known for producing high-quality, small-lot wines that showcase the unique terroir of its carefully selected vineyard sites. The winery is led by Partner and CEO Nathaniel Dorn, who has extensive experience in fine wine and hospitality. Winemaker Shawn Johnson, trained by respected experts in Napa Valley, emphasizes careful grape selection and minimal intervention during the winemaking process. Their portfolio features wines from both their estate vineyards and carefully chosen sourcing partners throughout Napa Valley, including Hogwash and 75 Wine Co.

Amulet Estate AE Cabernet Sauvignon is a Yountville, Napa Valley wine that serves asan introduction to the Amulet Estate portfolio. It features a Cabernet Sauvignon sourcedfrom a sustainably farmed single vineyard, in partnership with the Bettinelli family. TheAE label highlights the vibrancy of Napa Valley and is a carefully planned addition tothe Amulet Estate lineup.

It captures some of the gently herbal notes common in this slightly cooler part of Napaand marries them nicely into a wider band of ripe cherries. A blend of 85% CabernetSauvignon, with 5% each Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Merlot, it’s medium to full-bodiedin the mouth, framed by silky tannins, with a tart, mouthwatering finish.

Ripe fruit on the nose with mulberries, blackcurrants, cooked cherries and sweetspices. Some mint and bark. Chewy and ripe, with a full body and a plush core of darkberry fruit. Leafy, tarry elements come through.
