Adelaida’s 2023 Pinot Noir comes from organically farmed estate vineyards in the Adelaida District, a coastal-influenced sub-appellation in the northwest corner of Paso Robles, situated on steep hillsides at elevations between 1,400 and 2,050 feet with limestone subsoils and extreme diurnal temperature swings averaging 45 degrees. The 2023 growing season was the longest and coolest in 12 years, with a late, patient harvest yielding wines of exceptional fruit quality and rounded, savory complexity.
The nose ranges from black cherry preserves and rose hips to riverstone and the essence of a coniferous forest after rain. On the palate, bright cranberry, raspberry, and oolong tea emerge with appealing freshness. A wine that drinks beautifully now and has the structure to age well through 2031.
